- defining and organizing the range of disciplinary training courses
- recruiting doctoral students
- allocating the funding entrusted to it
- ensuring the quality of the supervision of its doctoral students
- ensuring the follow-up of doctoral students
- organizing scientific and intellectual exchanges between doctoral students
- promoting and following the professional integration of its doctoral students

Institutions involved in the EDGE doctoral school
The institutions accredited by the doctoral school welcome doctoral students in their institution and can deliver the doctoral degree.
Partner institutions host doctoral students at their institution but cannot issue the doctoral degree. The doctoral student can be attached to an associated institution but must be registered in an accredited institution that will issue the doctorate.
